Join local artist Naomi Zouwer from The Creative Practise for a series of intergenerational art workshops based on beautiful and weird objects in the Lanyon collection. Naomi is a professional arts educator and cross-disciplinary artist who works with drawing, painting, and textiles mediums to make works that engage with ideas of identity, cultural heritage and the social role of domestic objects. All levels of experience are welcome. The workshops are for adults and children (8 years old and above.)
Still Life Painting
Sunday 20 October 10am – 1pm
Participate in this colourful and flower-filled workshop painting flowers cut fresh from the garden and arranged in the fabulous vases from the collection at Lanyon Homestead. Participants will be guided by artist Naomi Zouwer to explore oil paint, acrylic paint or watercolour.
Sunday 27 October 10am -1pm
Make 2 paintings in one! Be inspired by the marvellous split painting in the Lanyon Homestead and make your own with guidance from artist Naomi Zouwer.
Sunday 3 November 10am -1pm
Artist Naomi Zouwer will guide participants through a variety of textile techniques and unexpected materials to make flower forms inspired by the strange and fascinating flower composition that is made from hair and lives in the Lanyon Homestead.
Sunday 10 November 10am -1pm
Explore the tradition of silhouettes that began in the 1700s. Make your own inspired by the collection of silhouettes on display in the Lanyon Homestead. All levels of experience are welcome for this intergenerational session.
