Guided Garden Tours of Calthorpes' House

Saturday and Sunday
1pm, 1.45pm, 2.30pm and 3.15pm

We will bring Calthorpes' House to life, with this 30 minute tour of the beautiful garden, learning about 20th century life in Canberra.

Tours run every weekend, (on both Saturday and Sunday) at 1pm, 1.45pm, 2.30pm and 3.15pm. We strongly encourage a cashless transaction, so please book ahead to help everyone remain COVID-safe.

Step into the story at Calthorpes' House and discover the fascinating stories of the Waterhouse family that lived here.

This tour allows you to get the best possible experience at Calthorpes' House, in the COVID-19 era. Our socially-distanced tour takes the group on a guided and informative walk around the garden.

You can also take a virtual tour of the main house using our digital interpretation content on an iPad, either before or after your garden tour.

Due to social distancing requirements, we are unable to open the main house for guided tours at the moment. As part of this outdoor tour, we will give every tour participant a free pass to use within 12 months, for a guided house tour once restrictions are lifted.

ACT Historic Places acknowledges that Calthorpes' House sits on land nurtured and managed for millennia by the Ngunnawal people. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging.
