Saturday 22 June: 10am-4pm
Bookings by Wednesday 19 June
Please also note that there is no car parking on site therefore we recommend parking along streets that run off Mugga Way. We don’t recommend parking outside Calthorpe’s House on Mugga Way because it is potentially risky due to driver’s vision of pedestrians being obscured by the crest in the road. Limited parking for disabled access is available on site. Please do not park on our neighbour’s properties.
Calthorpes House re-opens after extensive conservation works. Celebrate with free entry, extended opening hours, family activities and special tours – including a ‘Behind the Scenes’ tour led by Furniture and Interiors Conservator, Greg Peters.
Hear the pianola playing and enjoy a warm scone baked in the original wood oven. Kids can build a cubby house on the lawn and make their own wrapping paper using stamps by Megan Hinton and inspired by the Calthorpe Collection.
10am – 11.30am, every 30 minutes
See the everyday life of the family through their personal objects, bedrooms and kitchen.
Hear about the conservation works and the enormous task of packing up the collection and putting the rooms back together.
