Assistant Director: Access and Learning

Claire manages Access and Learning section’s programs across Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG), and ACT Historic Places: Lanyon, Mugga-Mugga and Calthorpes’ House with Sophie Chessell. She enjoys the challenge of working with a team to create rich and meaningful visitor experiences, and relishes the opportunities to work across a diverse array of sites and engage a range of audiences. Her interests are printmaking, photography, nurturing children’s creativity through process art, and mid-century design.

Claire began work for the organisation delivering early childhood visual art and social history programs as the CMAG Access and Learning Officer in 2008. In 2009 she was appointed Assistant Director: Access and Learning. Prior to joining the organisation she worked as secondary teacher in the ACT, studied journalism and trained as a TESOL teacher. She has 2 young children who inspire her daily and remind her to always be curious.
